Man sexually assaulted 12-year-old boy, sheriff says | Crime

LINCOLN COUNTY - A Cherryville man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy in Lincoln County.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Michael Brett Postell was arrested on Monday on sex charges.  He is charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor and first-degree sexual offense.

According to detectives, the offense took place during a two-year period in Lincoln County.  The sexual assault was reported to authorities on January 1.

Postell is being held in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $170,000 secured bond.
